About the Role
The Assistant Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving Supply Chain Finance transactions to provide a high level of customer service and contribute to the overall success of the Supply Chain Finance Services Centre. This role ensures specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives, while ensuring all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Process transactions within a wide range of complexity, including Payable Finance products, Trade receivable purchase products, Trade Loans, or other Trade and Supply Chain Finance Structured Products.
- Thoroughly review and release transactions prepared by SCF Analysts, ensuring they fall within the authorized limit and escalating to the SCF Manager if necessary.
- Operate various platforms and systems for daily functions, including BESS, Input Facility, CorrRisk, CGI-T360, Prime Revenue, ACBS, and Scotia Connect.
- Exhibit ample understanding of all facility structures and verify that all transactional documentation is complete, compliant, and appropriately authorized.
- Perform or assist with the balancing of G/L entries and loans under each facility.
- Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc reporting.
- Contribute to the setup and maintenance of the Facilities and Transactions Check list, the Shared Drive, Group email, and Customer and Facility Folders.
- Respond promptly and effectively to requests from customers and the SCF Sales team, escalating concerns and complaints to the Manager and Senior Manager to propose workable solutions.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations regarding operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning.
Requirements
- University Undergraduate Degree in Finance or business-related studies or equivalent.
- Project management experience is recommended.
- Supply Chain Finance knowledge is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of Supply Chain Finance products and services.
- Strong working knowledge of Bank’s AML and Compliance policies.
- Advance computer skills, particularly MS Office Suite - Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, etc.
