About the Role
This 6-month fixed-term role within the Group Sustainability team focuses on ESG reporting, specifically leading the delivery of subsidiary sustainability reporting under TCFD, SDR, and SFDR. The position is crucial for the Group Sustainability Report within the Annual Report and Accounts, involving end-to-end report production, managing external audits, and ensuring accurate disclosures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design ESG disclosures for external reporting documents, including the Group’s Annual Report and Accounts.
- Manage the end-to-end production of entity reports, encompassing planning, change management, peer analysis, metrics analysis, content drafting, and verification.
- Coordinate responses to auditor queries related to ESG disclosures.
- Oversee the team’s Key Controls and risk management returns.
- Maintain and enhance personal accountability for controls to improve the overall control environment.
- Stay updated on ESG disclosure developments, including peers and regulations, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support team planning and manage governance processes.
- Write governance papers for submission to boards and committees.
- Assist the project team with tasks related to the implementation of new sustainability regulations.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with experience or knowledge in sustainability reporting.
- Understanding of key reporting regulations such as TCFD, SDR, and SFDR.
- Experience in producing and delivering disclosures within a financial services organization, or experience auditing such disclosures.
- Understanding of controls.
- Experience working with external auditors or knowledge of key audit concepts.
- Good analytical skills for financial or sustainability metrics.
- Sound understanding of sustainability reporting regulations including ISSB/UK SRS, SFDR, SDR, TCFD, GHGP, and PCAF, with knowledge of accounting for GHG emissions across the value chain (desirable).
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and developments in sustainability and sustainability reporting (desirable).
- Good networks with external bodies and individuals in the sustainability field (desirable).
- Experience with system implementation in an accounting or sustainability context (desirable).
- Understanding of greenwashing (desirable).
