About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help drive the development of a new Tech 360 Platform. Tech 360 is an enterprise technology platform that provides CIOs and technology leaders with a single, trusted view of performance, risk, cost, delivery, talent, and business value across the organization. This role will provide technical leadership in designing, developing and delivering scalable solutions for technology reporting.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications using a minimum of one programming language.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, responsive web applications, ETL solutions, and scalable database systems.
- Author organized, clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable source code at an advanced level, applying appropriate data structures and algorithms.
- Lead implementation of cloud-native solutions leveraging Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployment.
- Define and implement API and integration strategies across enterprise platforms.
- Partner with architects and security teams to implement authorization and policy-driven access controls.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence, resiliency, and operational best practices.
- Participate in Agile and/or SAFe delivery teams, contributing to planning, estimation, execution, and continuous improvement activities.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ system analysis and/or application development work experience.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Angular and/or modern front-end development experience.
- Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native development experience.
- CI/CD pipeline implementation experience.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, application architecture, and SDLC methodologies.
- Proven ability to build executive-facing reporting, analytics, or dashboard solutions.
- Strong experience integrating data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
- Strong experience in data visualization and reporting technologies, including Power BI, Tableau, Chart.js, D3.js, or equivalent tools.
- Experience designing scalable application architectures with a focus on performance, security, maintainability, and reliability.
- Proficiency with SQL and data modeling concepts, including dimensional models, KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience building centralized reporting platforms, operational intelligence systems, or executive decision-support applications is highly preferred.
