About the Role

This is a highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial knowledge and expertise in a complex field. You will be accountable for a major functional area with a moderate level of complexity and a range of complex attributes, integrating enterprise strategy to develop solutions across multiple functions. You will provide expertise and advice on unique distribution issues for niche or customized products and segments, solve complex problems, and exercise judgment to identify solutions. This role impacts the achievement of sub-function or business line objectives and typically reports into a Senior Manager or Executive Product Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust understanding of regulatory requirements, customer, market, and industry to deliver product and process innovation.
  • Develop and implement products, policies, and procedures to enhance customer experience and achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee and ensure clear and effective delivery of products and services to the customer.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for product-related inquiries.
  • Lead business plans leveraging Acquisition and Segments teams to increase new account growth and track P&L impact.
  • Liaise with partners to understand trends, analyze challenges, identify opportunities, and build business cases for new product development.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with sales distribution, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Lead and facilitate problem-solving sessions with partners and vendors.
  • Design end-to-end processes for product development, implementation, use, reporting, and feedback.
  • Direct and coordinate market research to determine underlying customer needs.
  • Participate in the day-to-day management of products, identifying and implementing features and enhancements.
  • Deliver financial results for the product/product suite by managing pricing, margin, volume, etc.
  • Create and deliver business cases to achieve strategic business results.
  • Support Senior Management as a subject matter expert for the product portfolio.
  • Conduct ongoing industry and competitive analysis to obtain market insights.
  • Keep current on emerging trends and grow knowledge of the business, tools, and techniques.
  • Refine product management strategies through detailed analysis of the P&L, competitive research, and review of marketing/risk management tactics.
  • Ensure effective product policies and processes are established to support business processes and align with risk appetite.
  • Oversee product management deliverables within budget and as per the approved product plan.
  • Champion the development of the annual business plan and monthly/quarterly forecast process.
  • Contribute to and support partner-led projects.
  • Participate and collaborate on initiatives with internal and external service providers.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the product/segment.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with distribution channel owners.
  • Comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, supporting a positive work environment.
  • Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities.
  • Keep others informed about project status and relevant information.
  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or product management certificate and/or 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Previous Product experience typically required.
