About the Role
This role leads the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks across the organization. It ensures effective data management, regulatory compliance, and data quality, driving best practices and supporting improved outcomes for children through stakeholder engagement and governance oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of data governance policies, standards, frameworks, and controls.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive the adoption of data governance practices.
- Lead data quality monitoring and remediation activities, coordinating resolution of critical data quality issues and risks.
- Define and maintain data governance artefacts, including business glossaries, metadata standards, data dictionaries, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
- Facilitate data governance forums, working groups, and stewardship communities.
- Lead the implementation of data ownership, stewardship, and access management processes.
- Monitor governance maturity, compliance, and performance through KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert advice and day-to-day guidance on governance processes, standards, and data-related controls.
- Support audits, regulatory requirements, and organisational initiatives by ensuring adherence to data governance policies.
- Drive operational delivery of data governance initiatives while identifying opportunities to enhance governance effectiveness and business value.
Requirements
- Proven ability to resolve complex data governance challenges, drive root-cause analysis, mitigate data risks, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, data quality, master data, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with data governance and quality tools, data catalogues, and reporting solutions.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including analysing large datasets, developing governance dashboards, and producing insights.
- Ability to lead governance initiatives, promote adoption of governance frameworks, and drive organisational change.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse, global, and inclusive environments, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance governance processes, controls, and operating models.
- Ability to establish and monitor governance KPIs, track compliance with policies and standards, and assess governance effectiveness.
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.
- Involvement in projects or roles that required lead on implementing governance frameworks.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, influencing data governance policies, and contributing to broader organisational goals.
