About the Role
Upstate Niagara Cooperative, a dairy cooperative owned by local family farms, is seeking a Trailer Shuttler for its Logistics Facility in Syracuse, NY. This role is crucial for supporting sustainable farming and delivering fresh, local dairy products.
Responsibilities
- Shuttle trailers
- Prepare trailers for loading
- Perform pre-trip inspections on trucks to conform to DOT regulations and company policy
- Fuel trucks and document all activity
- Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs using an ELD as required by DOT
- Follow all SOP procedures and complete required documentation/checklists
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve products, services, or processes
- Follow all Safety requirements
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, DOT regulations
- Assist in maintaining SQF guidelines
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- 3 months verifiable experience driving Class A
- Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend
- Must be able to routinely lift over 60 pounds
- Must be able to work independently
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills required
- Must be organized and detail oriented
