About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and operating the technology that supports millions of customer journeys annually. You will work as a senior individual contributor within a product-focused engineering squad, spending most of your time hands-on developing software, solving complex technical challenges, and improving system reliability, scalability, and performance. You will help guide technical decisions, contribute to architecture discussions, and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver valuable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support production software, taking ownership of significant technical challenges and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Contribute to technical design and architectural discussions, balancing speed, simplicity, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.
- Continuously improve systems through better testing, observability, performance optimization, and operational practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Support engineering excellence through code reviews and technical collaboration.
- Investigate incidents and troubleshoot production issues.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and development practices.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical solutions.
- Contribute technical expertise during planning, discovery, and solution design.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools thoughtfully to improve development effectiveness and delivery quality.
Requirements
- Significant experience building, delivering, and operating production software within modern engineering environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent technical judgment.
- Ability to work confidently across complex systems.
- Strong commercial experience using .NET.
- Strong commercial experience using Java.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating solutions on AWS.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for continuously improving engineering quality, standards, and ways of working.
- Experience with technical architecture and solution design.
- Experience with developer tooling, build pipelines, and engineering enablement.
- Experience in operationally complex or regulated industries.
- Experience in airline, travel, logistics, or transportation environments.
