About the Role

Join the Central Data Products team at GetYourGuide to build and operate horizontal data products that empower multiple business clusters. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will shape how AI is used across the marketplace, working with millions of images and enhancing image quality, relevance, and compliance using ML/AI models. This role is ideal for those motivated by research-oriented work with long-term impact at scale.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative data products that enable suppliers to delight customers and drive company success.
Take full ownership of projects from business challenge to production code deployment.
Analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful insights.
Build and maintain robust data pipelines.
Establish rigorous evaluation and monitoring strategies, including in-production guardrails.
Monitor and optimize data products after deployment.
Contribute to the development of machine learning infrastructure and establish best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams to solve complex problems.
Support team growth, including participating in recruiting efforts.

Requirements

5+ years of experience deploying ML models in production.
Solid understanding of ML techniques and their practical applications.
Experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production is a must.
Ability to turn data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Experience with hypothesis testing.
Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., pandas/polars) and SQL/Spark.
Experience working in production with prompt design, tool use, orchestration (e.g., LangChain), retrieval/RAG, evaluator design, guardrails, and tracing/observability is a plus.
Proficiency in Python.
Knowledge of distributed machine learning and computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) is beneficial.
Experience in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating result-driven work.
Strong skills in explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
An advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
