About the Role
Vera is seeking a founding designer to own the look, feel, and functionality of its clinical app. This role involves transforming complex workflows into intuitive experiences, collaborating directly with founders and engineers, and shaping the company's design direction.
Responsibilities
- Own design across Vera’s product and brand, creating a distinctive and consistent visual identity.
- Translate complex clinical workflows into intuitive user experiences.
- Gather user feedback by talking to clinicians and observing their use of Vera.
- Develop prototypes, make design decisions, and execute with high visual craft.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure the quality of shipped features.
- Build and maintain a practical design system to support team velocity.
- Partner with founders on product strategy and drive weekly experience improvements.
Requirements
- Demonstrate exceptional taste with a strong eye for typography, layout, color, and interaction.
- Possess product intuition to identify and simplify confusing or unnecessary steps.
- Exhibit drive and ownership, taking initiative on problems and working resourcefully.
- Balance speed with high standards, exploring ideas quickly and refining effectively.
- Be fluent in Figma and comfortable with prototyping tools.
- Show strong work, clear thinking, and the ability to follow through.
- Provide a portfolio with selected projects, detailing personal ownership.
