About the Role
Mattioli Woods is seeking an exceptional data leader to define and deliver the Group's Data & AI strategy during a significant growth phase. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape how a multi-billion pound wealth management group utilizes data, automation, and AI to enhance client and advisor services. You will join an organization committed to transformation, with executive sponsorship and the scope to build a impactful data and AI function.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the Group Data & AI strategy and roadmap, transitioning use cases and prototypes into measurable production outcomes.
- Establish foundational data architecture, ownership, governance, quality, and controls across an expanding business.
- Map critical operational and advisor workflows to identify and implement automation and AI-driven productivity improvements.
- Establish governance and controls for responsible AI use in an FCA-regulated environment, collaborating with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security.
- Build analytics and insight capabilities to support better business, advisor, and client decisions.
- Lead, build, and develop a high-quality Data & AI team, supplementing internal capabilities with specialist partners and communicating investment cases to ExCo.
Requirements
- Proven track record of building data and AI capabilities and driving measurable business change.
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms, governance, analytics, and AI, focused on business outcomes.
- Ability to engage operational teams, collaborate with technical specialists, and present to senior stakeholders.
- Experience delivering data and AI transformation in financial services or another regulated environment.
- Credibility in establishing group-level data architecture, governance frameworks, and quality controls.
- Delivery mindset, comfortable moving from prototypes to production and building new capabilities.
