About the Role

The Merchandising Assistant Store Manager leads a team of associates to ensure exceptional customer service in a clean, safe, and well-stocked store. This role is accountable for achieving sales and margin goals, driving operational efficiencies, and maximizing customer satisfaction. The position may require full store leadership at times and involves collaboration with peers and district management to meet objectives. Opportunities for cross-training in Specialty and Operations assignments may be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate customer flow and work demand, redirecting efforts and schedules for proper coverage.
  • Plan for sales spikes and ensure adequate store stock to meet demand.
  • Conduct safety walks, monitor store power equipment usage, and coach associates on safe work practices.
  • Achieve sales and margin goals.
  • Drive operational efficiencies.
  • Maximize overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide full leadership over the store as needed.
  • Collaborate with peers and district management to assess customer needs and develop strategies for service, sales, and operational objectives.
  • Rotate through Specialty and Operations assignments for cross-training and development.

Requirements

  • Generally scheduled for 48 hours; more hours may be required based on business needs.
  • Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary activities.
  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
  • 2 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
  • 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
  • 1 year of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes within and beyond assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
  • If required by state or local municipality, must be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of employment.

  • $62,000.00 - $104,000.00 annually
