About the Role
The Divisional Pricing team supports, challenges, and provides insights to pricing teams globally. We ensure adherence to pricing principles, controls, and targets for senior leadership. This role is for an innovative and technically strong actuary to join the Divisional Pricing team, reporting to the VP Pricing. The position offers exposure to global markets and collaboration with various experts and data sources.
Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with global actuarial pricing, risk, and capital management teams.
- Provide robust oversight to the pricing function by reviewing front-line pricing on large and non-standard quotes.
- Conduct deep dives to understand and ensure the appropriateness of current assumptions, applications, and methodologies.
- Ensure non-decrement assumptions are up-to-date and consistent across the division.
- Monitor and report on Enterprise Pricing Metrics at product family and PL Re levels.
- Drive and contribute to PL Re-wide projects impacting pricing.
- Develop division-wide methodologies and build the PL Re pricing reference library.
- Pursue consistency of pricing methodology and process across regions and lines of business by identifying and setting best practices.
- Ensure the continued evolution of analytic techniques in pricing through thought leadership.
- Support Pricing team activities and further build on PL Re Pricing methodologies and culture.
- Provide support and thought leadership for the pricing of new risks or novel reinsurance structures.
- Facilitate and encourage cross-region and LoB collaboration via divisional projects.
- Define and ensure a consistent PL Re pricing culture.
- Provide regular and transparent updates to Pricing teams and the wider business.
Requirements
- Qualified Actuary
- Ability to work independently in a small, flexible, and dynamic team
- Experience with asset-side modeling
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with statistical methods or a demonstrated interest and eagerness to develop skills in this area
- Interest in programming and comfortable with or willing to learn software packages, such as Tableau, SQL, and R.
