About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Aware platform, you will be a technical contributor challenged to work across the full application delivery stack. You will design and implement resilient, scalable, and performant solutions for complex healthcare problems using a variety of technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly resilient, scalable, and performant solutions that solve complex healthcare problems using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, AWS and more.
- Participate in technical and product discussions with leaders across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Demonstrate self-reliance and best design, communication, and solution practices in daily work.
- Ensure continuous improvement of engineering excellence standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Strong foundation in computer science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and system design for scalable web applications and backend services.
- Expert understanding of software engineering best practices, such as version control, testing, and continuous integration.
- Experience with NodeJS.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with Spring.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework (VueJS, React, or Angular).
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with REST API.
- Experience with automated testing (JUnit, TestNG, Jest, Vitest, or similar).
- Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Shift Left and test automation.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership; proactively identifies opportunities, takes initiative without being asked, and follows through with persistence.
- Experience with generative AI, machine learning, and predictive algorithms.
- Familiarity with statistics and healthcare domain.
- Expertise with distributed event streaming platforms like Kafka.
- Experience with data pipeline technologies.
