About the Role
As a Professional Consultant for digital administration projects in the Migration & Interior department, you will advise clients on challenging digitalization projects in a socially and politically relevant environment. You will analyze complex technical and organizational issues, develop viable target visions and solution approaches, and integrate expertise, administration, and technology. Your consulting role extends beyond the concept phase, as you will guide solutions from initial inquiry to successful implementation with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Advise public administration clients on challenging IT and digitalization projects with a focus on Migration & Interior, Internal Security, and jointly shape the development of administrative processes and digital services.
- Question existing processes and prepare technical decisions in a structured manner.
- Deeply engage with complex technical contexts, analyze technical, organizational, and procedural issues, and derive target visions, action options, and concrete recommendations.
- Conceive and moderate workshops, interviews, and coordination formats, integrate different perspectives, and guide clients and stakeholders through decision-making and change processes.
- Integrate administration, expertise, and technology, structure and prioritize requirements, and translate technical needs into viable digital solutions with interdisciplinary project and development teams.
- Support the implementation of concepts into practice, from analysis and requirements gathering through conception, piloting, testing, to go-live, keeping users, acceptance, and sustainable anchoring of solutions in mind.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in consulting public sector clients within IT, digitalization, or transformation projects.
- Experience in independently managing consulting tasks or technical work packages.
- Ability to quickly and thoroughly familiarize yourself with complex technical topics, analyze and structure interrelationships, and derive robust action options, recommendations, target visions, and concepts.
- Experience collaborating with external clients and diverse stakeholders.
- Communicate confidently at various levels of the client and project organization.
- Willingness to bring concepts to implementation with interdisciplinary teams and experience their practical impact.
- Ideally, experience with digitalization projects in public administration and/or a technical background in migration, interior, or internal security.
- Knowledge of OZG, EfA, FIM, data protection, or IT service management is a plus.
- Completed university degree ideally forms the professional basis for your activity.
- Very good German language skills (written and spoken) and good English language skills.
