About the Role
We are recruiting for an Underwriter to join the ibott underwriting team within Syndicate 1971. You will underwrite a portfolio focused primarily on US and International risks, supporting innovative and high growth businesses operating at the forefront of mobility and technology.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite US and International risks across primary and specialist liability classes.
- Work closely with brokers and clients to structure bespoke insurance solutions for complex and emerging risks.
- Contribute to portfolio performance management, pricing discipline and exposure oversight.
- Operate within Syndicate 1971’s risk appetite and underwriting framework, with authority levels aligned to experience.
- Support continued innovation through data led underwriting and analytical insight.
Requirements
- Experience underwriting insurance risks or working closely with underwriting decision-making in a commercial insurance environment.
- Strong broker engagement and relationship management capability.
- Analytical mindset, with advanced Excel skills and comfort working in a data-driven environment.
- Ability to operate with autonomy and sound judgement within a defined authority framework.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging industries, evolving risk landscapes and innovative business models.
