About the Role
Curtis Lumber is seeking a Manager-in-Training to assist in overseeing yard operations and personnel, balancing customer satisfaction with yard profitability. This role involves supervising employees and learning all aspects of branch operations.
Responsibilities
- Learn applicable computer applications and general policies and procedures.
- Learn operations-specific policies and procedures, including Inventory Control Systems, Receiving, Customer Delivery, and Manufacturing (Door Shop).
- Develop an understanding of safety management, branch logistics, inventory management, employee management, and expense management through observation, hands-on training, and mentoring.
- Work within branch-level teams to develop operational and support logistics fundamentals.
- Achieve forklift license and receive instruction on various lifts.
- Learn to utilize reporting and data for business decisions.
- Attend company-specific training.
- Participate in year-end inventory audits.
- Understand the roles of and meet members of corporate departments, including Human Resources, Purchasing, Special Orders, and Loss Control.
Requirements
