About the Role
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician to provide field support for FAA facilities within the ZNY airspace, supporting FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS, and other FSG programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for FAA programs/systems including FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, and WMSS.
- Install, repair, configure, test, and perform preventative maintenance on various equipment at remote customer locations.
- Work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity, potentially traveling to customer locations within and occasionally outside the assigned area.
- Read, understand, and follow equipment drawings and task orders.
- Document work performed at customer locations.
- Collaborate with NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk to resolve field issues.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, inventory, and vehicles.
- Prepare proactively for assigned tasks before dispatch.
- Work outside regular hours, including on-call, as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Lift up to 32 lbs. and use ladders to reach heights of approximately 10ft.
- Adhere to L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
- Obtain a FAA Public Trust or a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Alternatively, requires 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust or a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

- Working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449)
- Working knowledge of fiber, Multiplexers, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
- Working knowledge of power testing (AC and DC including 3 Phase AC)
- Familiar with configuration and operation of 24V DC & 48V DC power supplies
- Experience with network and circuit testing (T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards)
- Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment (JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets)
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
