About the Role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food, feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes. You'll build lasting relationships with customers, maximizing sales and profit. Duties include handling raw meat and fish, with all training provided. This role is for New Malden and West Ealing ONLY.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for your own food counter ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
- Stay on top of stock levels, ensuring the products our customers love are there when needed.
- Take great care while working with open food and ensure all due diligence and health & safety protocols are followed.
- Reduce food wastage.
- Maintain knowledge of new products and have a good understanding of Waitrose's food values (e.g. animal welfare).
- Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.
- Handle raw meat, cutting, trimming and preparing special cuts of meat for display.
- Handle raw fish, including chopping, gutting, descaling and cleaning fish.
Requirements
- Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
- Able to work at the locations specified on this vacancy.
- Able to work on a Saturday and a Sunday between the hours of 08:00 and 21:00.
Skills
- Food safety and hygiene knowledge
- Customer facing experience
- Catering / hospitality environment experience
- Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends

- £14.55 per hour (£14.80 after 90 days)
- Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour for time worked between 22:00 - 06:00
