Working closely with the Senior Designer, you’ll support the department’s product direction, take ownership of part of the range and design products that reflect key business strategies, customer needs and target price points. It’s a great opportunity for an ambitious designer to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced team while contributing to one of the UK’s leading retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Input into the Design Brief, strategies, range line sheet, and reviews.
  • Research global retail and trends, identifying and communicating key opportunities.
  • Create design boards and presentations, demonstrating a clear understanding of the M&S customer and their product needs.
  • Collaborate with the Buying/Technical team to agree the range and create Tech Packs.

  • Coordinate, motivate, and mentor the Assistant Designer.
  • Collaborate with Designers and the team to meet critical path deadlines.
  • Deliver the right designs at the right time.
  • Support effective working relationships with Sourcing Office teams and Suppliers.

Requirements

  • Strong trend interpretation and knowledge of current competition and directional brands.
  • Strong understanding of fabric, fit, and garment make-up to ensure product integrity.
