About the Role
The Risk and Broking Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a 17-month program designed to provide graduates with a holistic view of Risk and Broking (R&B) through hands-on experience, insight, and opportunities to make an impact and shape their own careers. Participants will gain a broad knowledge base, varied skills, and build a diverse network within the industry.
Responsibilities
- Gather information and analytics to assess and evaluate client risks to support market placement.
- Create Loss Summaries, review program binders for accuracy, and check policies.
- Assist brokers and senior brokers with preparing draft submission documents and finalizing submissions.
- Review quotes against specifications and develop side-by-side comparisons with support.
- Prepare program proposals with support.
- Develop client and prospect presentations to secure new and build existing relationships with support.
- Assist with deliverables for Client Renewal Strategy Meetings.
- Support RFP process, sales, and pipeline needs of the Business Unit.
- Research market solutions to identify and develop optimum risk solutions for clients.
- Build relationships with insurance industry partners.
- Understand core insurance principles and brokerage concepts.
- Ensure adherence to quality and compliance procedures, including client documentation requirements.
- Accurately record and maintain information on appropriate systems, including RMS filing and use of the Broking Platform.
- Obtain the required insurance license within ninety (90) days of hire.
- Obtain and maintain an active surplus lines license within 120 days of hire or obtaining resident state license, as applicable.
- Create, manage, and check certification needs of the Business Unit.
- Request, manage, and support billing needs of the Business Unit.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Business Unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Graduation date between May 2026 – May 2027.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated strong time and task management skills.
- Ability to take direction, receive constructive feedback, and deliver accurate work product.
- Relationship management and customer focus.
- Ability to interface with customers and collaborate internally with teammates to serve customers.
