About the Role
SIBYLONE, a consulting firm specializing in data information systems, helps clients leverage their data as a strategic asset for growth, profitability, process optimization, and risk management. We are seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Automate data flows to ensure optimal availability and quality.
- Work with distributed environments (Hadoop, Spark) for processing large data volumes.
- Configure and optimize cloud solutions (GCP) for data storage and processing.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and business teams to understand needs and provide tailored data solutions.
- Participate in data modeling and the creation of optimized schemas (Data Warehouse, Data Lake).
- Improve SQL queries and Spark processing for optimal performance.
- Monitor and resolve latency or scalability issues in pipelines.
- Stay updated on new data engineering technologies and best practices.
- Propose continuous improvements to modernize data infrastructures.
- Write clear technical documentation for pipelines and infrastructures.
- Train business teams on the use of data tools and processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- Proven experience on complex data projects.
- Mastery of Big Data tools: Spark (PySpark, Scala), Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive).
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and Dataflow.
- Advanced SQL skills (complex queries, optimization).
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, PySpark).
- Experience with versioning tools like Git.
- Knowledge of data architectures: Data Warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery), Data Lake.
- Understanding of data modeling (star, snowflake schemas).
- Autonomy and rigor, with the ability to work on complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Team spirit and ability to collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Good communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-experts.
