About the Role

At Xelix, the DevOps team manages, monitors, and optimizes our SaaS platform, ensuring high availability, durability, reliability, resiliency, and fault tolerance. They support in-house developers by providing a world-class developer experience. This role is for a Junior DevOps Engineer to help complete the existing tech roadmap, improve CI/CD processes, automate manual tasks for a self-service environment, and maintain platform uptime SLAs by enhancing the observability stack. Familiarity with AWS services and Terraform is essential, as is building on existing security infrastructure by implementing and maintaining security best practices.

Responsibilities

Operating production AWS workloads
Provision, upgrade and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins / Github Actions and other technology
Support the Development and AI Engineering Teams - help troubleshoot their issues
Bring observability through dashboards, alerting and log aggregation
Run incident analysis and post mortems
Environment management: ephemeral environments, dev/staging/prod

Requirements

A strong foundation in DevOps practices and tools
A solid understanding of Terraform
Eager to learn and pickup new skills quickly and independently
Familiarity with Python/Django deployments and troubleshooting
An understanding of Postgres/RDS database operations
Confident to ask for help when stuck, ready to supply new ideas, able to listen work well with other team members
Good technical background and mindset
Diligent at tasks and keeping to deadlines for tickets, happy to assist colleagues across the organisation to resolve technical issues quickly
Familiarity with common AWS Services (RDS, S3, ECS, EC2 etc.)
