About the Role
The Sydney Opera House is seeking applications to support the Event Safety Team over the next 12 months and beyond across its forecourt series and other events. This role provides advice, promotes a positive safety culture, and takes a proactive approach to risk minimization throughout the Production & Events portfolio. It monitors compliance, utilizes appropriate systems and procedures, and is required to proactively identify and lead small projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice on safety matters.
- Promote a positive safety culture.
- Proactively minimize risk within the Production & Events portfolio.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Support production & events operations, activities, and workers.
- Proactively identify and lead small safety-related projects.
Requirements
- Certificate IV in WHS (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and event safety best practice.
- Experience in production and event environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
- Collaborative team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Existing Australian work rights.
- Satisfactory National Police Check.
- Satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment.

- Base wage of $42.60 per hour plus 23.3% Casual Loading, 1.25% Scale Penalty and 12% Superannuation Contributions
