About the Role

You will coordinate and shape the communicative implementation of the project, from editorial and content planning to publication. This includes writing texts, designing graphics, conceptualizing video formats, accompanying workshops, film shoots, and events, filming yourself, and editing short video formats. You will translate the project's technical topics into understandable, sensitive, and target-group-oriented content for social media, the website, newsletters, and other channels, from Reels, posts, sharepics, and story formats to website texts, newsletter content, and accompanying communication materials for educational offerings and events. You will develop formats and campaigns in close coordination with your direct supervisor, the project team, and involved subject matter experts. You will prepare insights from project work editorially and visually, keeping an eye on editorial plans, deadlines, coordination, and necessary materials. In doing so, you will contribute to ensuring that the project's topics and offerings reach different target groups, Jewish perspectives are respectfully visible, and anti-antisemitic educational work can be effective in the digital space.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and publish content for project communication for social media, website, newsletter, and public relations.
  • Prepare complex technical content in an understandable, accessible, and target-group-oriented manner.
  • Design texts, posts, short videos, and other digital formats related to the project's topics and activities.
  • Tell stories from workshops, training sessions, collaborations, and events, making the people and perspectives behind the project visible.
  • Ensure that Jewish perspectives are presented respectfully, with nuance, and in a discrimination-sensitive manner.
  • Adapt content to the respective channels, target groups, and platform logics.
  • Develop and implement communication formats, content series, and campaigns within the project framework.
  • Manage project-related content on GermanDream's social media channels and ensure reliable publication.
  • Plan and accompany events, video shoots, interviews, and video portraits, preparing questions and workflows and coordinating with all involved parties.
  • Accompany workshops, film shoots, and events on-site, film yourself, and collect suitable photo, video, and soundbite material.
  • Edit short video formats yourself and coordinate further communication measures with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare content, materials, and results from the project for our communication channels.
  • Support community management on our channels, analyze feedback, and adhere to agreed moderation and escalation paths.
  • Address relevant developments and debates in pop culture, media, and digital spaces and develop suitable communication approaches from them.
  • Work closely with your direct supervisor, project management, and involved subject matter experts, coordinating technically sensitive content with them.
  • Obtain information, materials, and approvals in a timely manner and ensure clear agreements and next steps.
  • Maintain editorial plans and keep track of publications, deadlines, and production processes.
  • Structure and maintain content, photo, and media archives, especially in Notion and Teams.
  • Ensure a consistent visual and linguistic appearance according to GermanDream's Brand Guidelines.
  • Analyze reach, resonance, and relevant key figures and derive learnings for future communication.
  • Incorporate findings, feedback, and current developments into the further development of content, formats, and campaigns.
  • Proactively identify when content, deadlines, or production processes need to be adjusted.

Requirements

  • First to several years of professional experience in communication, social media, content creation, public relations, or a comparable field.
  • Good sense for storytelling, language, visual worlds, and digital formats.
  • Ability to prepare socio-political and technically complex topics in an understandable and target-group-oriented manner.
  • Experience in the independent creation of content, especially text, graphics, and video.
  • Proficiency in common creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and CapCut, or the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, understanding their different formats, target groups, and functionalities.
  • Experience in planning, accompanying, or implementing video shoots, interviews, and social media productions.
  • Structured and reliable work approach, able to maintain an overview even with parallel publications, coordination, and deadlines.
  • Confident communication with various internal and external contacts and enjoyment of teamwork.
  • Interest in anti-antisemitism prevention, democracy education, and socio-political debates.
  • Responsible handling of Jewish perspectives and discrimination-sensitive content.
  • Residency in Berlin and willingness to travel regularly within Berlin for shoots, workshops, events, and other project appointments.
  • Value-based, inclusive, and discrimination-sensitive work approach.
  • Very good German language skills (written and spoken). Good English skills are an advantage.
