About the Role
DP World is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for its Minworth site. This role involves leading a large-scale logistics operation, managing approximately 300 colleagues across multiple shifts, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for a major automotive customer. You will be responsible for operational performance, people leadership, customer relationships, health and safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a large operational team across multiple shifts, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and accountability.
- Provide direct leadership to Shift Managers and specialist operational support teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring service expectations are consistently exceeded.
- Develop resource and manpower plans that support operational requirements while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Drive a culture of health, safety, quality, and compliance across all areas of responsibility.
- Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Support the implementation of strategic objectives and translate business goals into clear operational plans.
- Manage supplier and agency relationships, ensuring effective service delivery and contractual compliance.
- Lead employee performance management activities, including coaching, absence management, investigations, and disciplinary processes where required.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
