About the Role
Seeking a technically deep, creativity-driven Applied AI Engineer who is a power user of AI coding tools and passionate about developer productivity. You will partner with engineering leaders and builders to design, validate, and scale AI workflows, often using Codex to prototype and build customer-adopted solutions. This role blends technical architecture, product strategy, and customer-facing leadership, working cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Applied Engineering to advocate for customer needs and shape product direction.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert on OpenAI Codex for customers, enabling their engineering teams and building coding workflows.
- Partner directly with customers to design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, from prototyping to production rollout.
- Build high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations, using Codex in the development process.
- Lead large-format workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on enablement sessions for AI coding tool adoption.
- Contribute technical content, examples, guides, patterns, and best practices to the OpenAI Cookbook.
- Gather high-fidelity product insights from customer deployments and translate them into product proposals and feedback.
- Influence customer strategy and decision-making by framing the role of AI coding tools in their SDLC and workflows.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on solution architecture, operational readiness, model configuration, security, and best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical consulting, post-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar customer-facing experience.
- Active power user of AI coding tools with a customized developer workflow and a point of view on engineer productivity.
- Experience building demos, integrations, and prototypes, often using AI coding tools to accelerate development.
- Experience delivering large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams.
- Experience contributing technical guides, patterns, or examples publicly.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
- Excited by ambiguous, rapidly evolving problem spaces and enjoy iterating toward novel solutions with customers.
