About the Role
The Design & Technology / Digital Media Teacher at Reddam House guides Stage 4 students, fostering academic excellence and holistic development through engaging lesson plans and assessments. This role is crucial for empowering students to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Teach Design & Technology and Digital Media to secondary students in a dynamic, collaborative learning environment.
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum programs aligned with relevant educational standards.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom that supports student achievement and wellbeing.
- Create and maintain safe, organised, and engaging learning spaces, including specialist equipment and resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student success.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
- Participate in school events, meetings, professional development, and co-curricular activities while maintaining high standards of professionalism and student care.
Requirements
- A strong track record in teaching Design & Technology at Stage 4 level, with a strong understanding of NESA curriculum requirements.
- The ability to teach effectively and engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.
- Experience in organising and supervising school activities and events.
- Proficient in using educational technologies and creative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Passionate about middle school education and committed to the holistic development of students through Stage 4.
- Creative and innovative in teaching approaches, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a strong ability to support students’ emotional and social well-being.
- Highly organised, with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player who works well with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to handle challenges and changes within the educational environment.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
- Willingness to participate in school events and activities outside of regular school hours as required, with a focus on contributing to the school’s leadership and educational initiatives.
