About the Role
MUFG Investor Services is seeking a strategic leader to build and manage a scalable, resilient, and globally consistent Global Payments function that supports business growth. This role will drive the technology, automation, and transformation roadmap, ensuring efficient and secure execution of all payment operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Global Payments function.
- Build a scalable, resilient, and globally consistent operating model.
- Drive the technology, automation, and transformation roadmap.
- Partner with Technology and Product teams to increase straight-through processing, reduce manual intervention, and strengthen controls.
- Lead bank connectivity, payment platform enhancements, and integration initiatives.
- Ensure efficient and resilient connectivity across internal and external banking systems.
- Maintain executive oversight of global payment operations.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and secure execution of client, investor, fund, treasury, and corporate payments.
- Establish global standards, procedures, controls, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Drive service quality, regulatory compliance, and a reduction in payment errors, failures, and operational incidents.
- Lead the transition and integration of payment activities across the organization.
- Ensure consistent standards and seamless service delivery.
- Build and develop a high-performing global leadership team.
- Lead capacity planning, workforce, and location strategy.
- Create an operating model capable of absorbing growth without linear headcount increases.
- Oversee payment investigations, operational incidents, third-party providers, business continuity, and operational resilience.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry requirements.
- Partner with business and client teams to support client onboarding, product expansion, and evolving payment requirements.
- Provide meaningful management information and risk reporting.
Requirements
- 10–15 years' experience in Treasury and Payments, ideally within fund services, asset servicing, or financial services.
- At least 5 years in senior leadership, with experience leading high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.
- Proven experience building, scaling, or transforming global operational functions.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and programme/change management capabilities.
Skills
- Deep knowledge of treasury and payment operations, including SWIFT, wire payments, banking platforms, correspondent banking, and payment routing.
- Strong understanding of cross-border payments, FX, and multi-currency cash management.
- Good knowledge of KYC, AML, sanctions, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity, and/or real estate funds is highly desirable.
