About the Role
This role is responsible for a portfolio of claims, acting as a centre of excellence for the Council's Insurance service. You will promote best practice in risk management and provide insurance and risk advice based on lessons learned from claims and incidents.
Responsibilities
- Manage and account for a portfolio of claims from internal and external customers.
- Promote best practice in managing risks, aligning with the Council's risk management philosophy.
- Provide insurance and risk advice to services based on claims and incident analysis.
- Support decision-making by enabling risk-informed choices.
- Deputise for the Insurance Manager and Senior Insurance Officer.
- Lead on insurance development projects as requested.
Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to write reports and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Confidence in providing guidance and support across the organization.
- Experience in investigating and negotiating settlements on complex claims.
- Ability to deputise for the Insurance Manager and Senior Insurance Officer.
- Ability to lead on insurance development projects.
