About the Role
Establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients, acting as the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs to ensure mutual benefit and long-term success within the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
- Analyze data from investment portfolios and cash flow to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Research client industries, regulatory landscapes, and competitive environments to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customized solutions using the bank's products and services.
- Communicate value propositions, justify recommendations, and negotiate beneficial terms.
- Provide guidance on financial decisions, risk management, and wealth management strategies.
- Assess and minimize financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships.
- Document client interactions, transactions, and agreements for transparency and auditability.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue, and other metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and develop business growth strategies.
- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Lead a team, set objectives, coach employees, and appraise performance.
- Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members.
- Identify the need for inclusion of other specializations to complete assignments.
- Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.

Requirements
- Undertaking, or have completed, a credit skills development programme or qualification.
- Team-focused individual with confidence to interact with sophisticated clients.
- Track record of achievement and contributing to initiatives beyond day-to-day responsibilities.
- Comfortable building effective working relationships with internal partners across the Barclays Group.
- Experience using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Desire to develop deep knowledge of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors.
- Strategic thinking skills with the ability to assess and identify new business development opportunities.
- Good awareness and knowledge of Barclays Corporate & Investment Banking products & services.
- Detailed knowledge of profit drivers (income, RWAs, pricing, credit grading, etc.).
- Understanding of complex debt and organisational structures.
- Ability to proactively take personal initiative in terms of planning, organising and balancing workflow commitments.
- Good understanding of the policies and strategies as they relate to the demands of the Team’s client base.
- Previous experience of dealing with clients/customers.
- May be assessed on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology skills.

About the Company
- Join us as an Associate Director within our Large Corporate team working within our Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.
- TMT covers a broad range of sectors, across technology (software and hardware businesses), media (broadcasting, content and rights plus marketing, advertising & events), telecommunications services (from infrastructure related to resellers) and a variety of digitally led sectors across B2C and B2B.
- This role will work alongside a team of Relationship Directors’ and Associate Directors with national coverage of this industry.
- You will work closely with your assigned Corporate Bankers in all sales support activity to drive the growth and management of their portfolios, and with Leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
