About the Role
As an Equipment Technician at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you will perform functions associated with manufacturing and system operations, including set-up, calibration, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, and quality testing for memory chips and logic. You will use sophisticated programs to evaluate operating data and make in-line adjustments to processes and equipment, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Respond to equipment faults and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Analyze data and verify quality metrics.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of work, and communicate equipment status during shifts.
- Operate safely in a cleanroom environment using a cleanroom suit.
- Carry out maintenance tasks while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent military experience with a focus on electronics (e.g., Avionics, Navy nuclear), or 3+ years semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Fast learner who adapts to new systems and procedural change.
- Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, planning, and action plan execution.
- Ability to lift and move equipment/supplies up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing/walking for 10+ hrs. daily.
