About the Role

The Verification team builds and tests tools to verify agreements about AI. We prototype new verification mechanisms, lead international research collaborations, and work with policymakers to inform the trustworthy adoption of AI in high-stakes industries.

Responsibilities

  • Design challenge protocols and measure whether real accelerators can satisfy them.
  • Microbenchmarking accelerators.
  • Writing challenge kernels.
  • Characterizing high-bandwidth memory capabilities under adversarial conditions.
  • Determining if measurements support a verifiable agreement.
  • Publishing research findings, including negative results.

Requirements

  • Ability and trajectory are valued over years of experience.
  • Rigorous about measurement and its potential flaws.
  • Ability to consider an adversary while optimizing.
  • Comfortable working on and publicly reporting on protocols that may not work.
  • Thrive in ambiguous, early-stage environments where problem definition is key.
