About the Role
This is a full-time, entry-level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory. Candidates with outdoor, retail, customer service, sales, or driving experience may be a good fit.
Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption meters
- Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections
- Polite and professional interactions with the public and clients
- Safely operate a motorized vehicle
Requirements
- Previous experience working outside
- Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each day
- Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements
- Sitting or standing for prolonged periods required
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations
- High school diploma or GED
