About the Role
As an Offensive Security Consultant, you will identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities for clients by conducting penetration tests, analyzing security gaps, and improving client system security. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual seeking to develop skills in ethical hacking and security assessment.
Responsibilities
- Work on large scale and targeted penetration testing projects for enterprise customers.
- Conduct penetration tests on client applications (web/mobile/desktop), networks, and systems to identify vulnerabilities.
- Perform blackbox, greybox, and whitebox source code assisted penetration tests.
- Assess vulnerabilities using various tools and techniques, documenting findings and suggesting remediation.
- Contribute to detailed reports summarizing findings, prioritizing risks, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Communicate findings to clients in technical and non-technical terms, understanding security requirements and impacts.
- Provide offensive security expertise and recommendations across a range of technologies, including security reviews.
- Stay current with the latest vulnerabilities, exploits, and cybersecurity trends.
- Research new tools and methodologies to contribute to team improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Experience running multiple types of penetration tests (network/web/mobile) for customers.
- Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, and common web application security principles.
- Knowledge of penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap) is essential.
- Ability to review and understand application source code to identify security issues in business logic, authentication, authorization, input handling, and data processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in complex systems.
- Ownership, willingness to help, and prioritizing teammates.
- Clear, kind communication and sound decision-making based on good judgment.
