About the Role
RSM is seeking a Director for its Deals Accounting and Strategic Finance practice, specializing in Transaction Accounting. This role involves providing expert accounting and financial advisory services to clients navigating a complex business landscape.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the Deals Accounting and Strategic Finance practice, providing technical accounting and financial/business advisory guidance.
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts.
- Provide timely, high-quality client service, coordinating the development and execution of consulting work plans and deliverables.
- Collaborate with firm specialists on complex accounting matters.
- Assist in the preparation of technical memos and client deliverables.
- Manage Transaction Accounting engagements and their respective teams.
- Oversee engagement economics and manage resources for efficient engagement models.
- Support sell-side readiness by identifying accounting gaps, improving financial reporting, enhancing close processes, and addressing complex accounting considerations.
- Perform transaction-related accounting analyses, including business combinations, carve-outs, and resolution of complex accounting issues.
- Design and implement accounting policies, reporting structures, and finance/accounting processes, including scalable monthly close frameworks and controls.
- Support day-one and post-close accounting and financial reporting readiness, including close stabilization, functional integration, and stakeholder coordination.
- Assist management with post-close financial reporting obligations, purchase agreement requirements, and ongoing integration activities.
- Anticipate and address client concerns, escalate issues, and identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Understand RSM's service lines and collaborate for integrated service delivery.
- Develop Transaction Accounting service line team members through mentoring, training, and career advising.
- Understand RSM's lines of business and identify opportunities to make valuable introductions to other firm professionals.
- Collaborate with the National Leader on go-to-market strategy, proposals, pitch meetings, and marketing collateral development.
- Develop a strategy to leverage external relationships with Centers of Influence for business growth.
- Stay informed on industry publications and share relevant information with clients.
- Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
- Willingness to travel 25% or less of the year.
