About the Role
The Learning Experience - Hudson Yards is seeking an energetic and creative Music Teacher to introduce young children to the joy of music through singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, and interactive activities. This role is ideal for someone who can make music exciting and accessible for children at every developmental stage.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging music experiences for young children
- Introduce rhythm, melody, movement, singing, and age-appropriate instruments
- Create interactive music activities for different ages and developmental levels
- Use music and movement to support language, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development
- Encourage creativity, participation, self-expression, and confidence
- Incorporate music into classroom themes and learning experiences
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and center leadership
- Prepare and organize materials and instruments for activities
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow applicable New York City childcare health, safety, and licensing requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Comfortable singing, leading movement, and engaging groups of young children
- Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements
Skills
- Music background, training, or relevant experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience teaching music or working with children preferred
- Experience with musical instruments is a plus
- Preschool, daycare, enrichment, or early childhood experience is a plus
- Creative

- Comfortable performing in front of groups
