About the Role
Partner with frontline teams to make commercially balanced risk decisions, providing practical advice, constructive challenge, and oversight across operational risk and compliance. Focus on strengthening controls and exploring automation and AI in risk management.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical risk and compliance advice, constructive challenge, and support to help teams make informed risk/reward decisions.
- Identify, assess, and monitor risks, incidents, and issues, ensuring appropriate actions, escalation, and follow-through.
- Design and advise on effective preventative and detective controls, including opportunities to use automation and technology.
- Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and help embed risk management tools, frameworks, and processes.
- Monitor risk performance, identify trends, and prepare clear reporting and insights for divisional risk discussions.
- Provide specialist advice across supplier risk and governance processes.
- Design and deliver practical operational risk and compliance training.
- Maintain accurate information within Lendi Group’s risk management system and support broader risk and compliance initiatives.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in risk and compliance within consumer lending, credit assistance, mortgage broking or a related financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian regulatory obligations, including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Privacy Act and AML/CTF requirements.
- Hands-on experience in control design, development, and testing.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and managing operational and compliance risks, incidents, and issues.
- Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to provide pragmatic risk advice while considering customer and business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence engaging and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, practical advice.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, with an interest in finding smarter ways to manage risk.
- Experience with RCSAs, risk appetite frameworks and risk management systems.
- Exposure to supplier / third-party risk and governance.
- Experience designing or delivering risk and compliance training.
- Exposure to automation, AI or technology-enabled approaches to risk and control management.
