About the Role

This is a hands-on Systems Administrator position assisting with the management and maintenance of IT and Systems Administration requirements for the studio and its ongoing productions. You will provide technical support to users and be part of a greater technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems administration and technical support to artists and staff.
  • Liaise with 3rd-party software vendors to resolve technical issues and request new functionality.
  • Balance production needs with client security constraints (TPN/MPAA).
  • Identify and communicate workflow, technology, and development methodology issues.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain core infrastructure including MS Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, public cloud, and on-premises virtualization.
  • Monitor and respond to the ticket support system, proactively identifying and resolving fundamental issues.
  • Manage various storage servers and technologies (ZFS, Editshare).
  • Maintain network health and security, optimizing configuration for data delivery.
  • Build new hardware and install/deploy software.
  • Script and develop software to automate administrative processes and troubleshoot pipeline tools.
  • Provide support outside of traditional working hours, including nights and weekends as required.

Requirements

  • Experience provisioning and maintaining access and core switches.
  • 3-5 years Senior SysAdmin experience in a Medium to Large Enterprise for both Linux & MS Server.
  • Experience working under established security standards (ISM, AS/NZS ISO/IEC 2700X, or Trusted Partner Network).
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, Active Directory on Windows Server.
  • Public cloud and on-premises virtualization setup and maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years Enterprise Storage Systems experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in a Post Production or VFX facility.
  • Application support experience with Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke, Render Management (Pixar Tractor), Adobe Suite, Avid MediaComposer, Arnold.
  • Ability to work cohesively within the technology team, ensuring transparency in reporting and communication.
  • Ability to liaise with production staff, technical and creative crew to gather requirements and provide solutions.
  • Ability to establish successful working relationships with key members of production and crew.
  • Ability to flag in advance any issues that may impact production delivery or company operations.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high levels of communication.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and responsive to changes.
  • Ability to complete tasks within production deadlines.
