About the Role
Responsible for providing strategic direction and management for projects and initiatives supporting the Commercial Bank, often managing complex, critical, and highly visible projects.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, inform, and implement Commercial Bank Segment Support Strategy, aligning roles and driving adoption.
- Collaborate with Commercial Bank partners to understand and influence overall strategy and support needs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Commercial Bank's initiatives, projects, staffing, and compensation.
- Stay informed about business and market trends affecting the business/department.
- Shape Commercial Bank strategic direction through analysis.
- Oversee and ensure proper direction on Commercial Bank strategic priorities and projects.
- Lead strategy for collaboration with internal partners, supporting Commercial Bank strategy, projects, and initiatives.
- Set policy and oversee the implementation of procedures or controls for compliance requirements.
- Perform complex analysis and judgment-based reviews, interpreting results to influence strategic decisions.
- Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to team members.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Exercise managerial authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
- Manage a small team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years’ related business line experience including 1 year leadership/ supervisory experience, or in lieu of a degree, combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience including 1 year leadership/supervisory experience.
- In-depth understanding of principles in discipline and basic knowledge of others.
