About the Role
Own the build-out of Fractal's compute business, which involves modular data center capacity co-located with distributed power assets. This includes managing the entire product lifecycle from siting and concept through commissioning and operation. You will be responsible for product strategy, commercialization, partner management, and translating customer needs into buildable designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead modular data center projects from site selection through commissioning and handover, including siting and layout, power distribution, cooling, fiber, and civil works.
- Originate, structure, and negotiate offtake agreements with compute partners, owning commercial and technical terms including SLAs, capacity ramp, curtailment, and milestone schedules.
- Select, negotiate with, and manage modular data center, cooling, electrical balance-of-plant, and equipment partners, holding them accountable to scope, schedule, and specification.
- Own budgets, schedules, risk registers, safety, and quality across the compute portfolio, and report status to executive leadership.
- Coordinate with Fractal's project engineering team on interconnection, load registration, metering, protection, and energization.
Requirements
- 7+ years delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, or modular infrastructure.
- Track record taking projects from concept through commissioning and into operation, with direct accountability for budget and schedule.
- Experience originating, structuring, and negotiating commercial agreements with compute offtakers or data center tenants.
- Familiarity with utility interconnection and large-load energization processes; ERCOT experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor and contractor scopes, and to hold counterparties to specification.
- Comfort operating with high autonomy in an early-stage, fast-moving environment, and the judgment to make decisions without complete information.
