About the Role
This position is accountable for excellent communications project management, writing, and client service. It contributes to corporate goals through the implementation of internal and external communications plans, coordinating work with other Communications staff to ensure alignment with overall strategy.
Responsibilities
- Plans, researches, writes, edits, and coordinates the development of print, electronic, and web-based communications.
- Coordinates work and schedules with graphic designers to ensure final products meet client needs.
- Documents and improves processes to produce quality, on-time results within budget.
- Serves on cross-functional teams to provide communications perspectives and develop/implement plans.
- Provides communications counsel to clients.
- Works closely with vendor-partners (printers, direct mail houses, etc.) to ensure production meets quality and timing requirements.
- Receives invoices and initiates the payment process, ensuring correct budget codes are used.
- Understands and supports Xcel Energy's brand and corporate values.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or related discipline.
- Five years of experience in positions requiring significant, direct interaction with clients, designers, and production vendors.
- Proven ability to write clearly, concisely, quickly, and accurately, incorporating key messages and calls to action.
- Ability to progress on a variety of projects during the workday and accustomed to working at a fast pace.
