About the Role
We are seeking strong backend engineers to join our Core Backend team. You will design services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops to build an intelligence layer that improves decision-making within the insurance industry. This role involves high ownership of business-critical infrastructure, contributing to more complete data, transparent decisions, and valuable products.
Responsibilities
- Design services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops.
- Work on systems at the center of the business.
- Contribute to making data more complete and decisions more transparent.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Excellent at your craft and relentless in pursuing it.
- Full ownership of work, driving projects to completion with minimal oversight.
- Proactive communication, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, and keeping stakeholders in the loop.
- Comfort with experimentation, testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
- Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
- Comfort with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Experience with LLMs/generative AI (bonus).
- Experience with distributed systems (bonus).
