About the Role
As a Senior Interior Designer at JLL, you'll shape environments that inspire, function beautifully, and deliver exceptional value. This position combines creative vision with strategic execution, leading interior design projects from concept through construction across diverse sectors. You'll be a design leader and trusted advisor, developing solutions that respond to client objectives, user needs, and site opportunities while navigating budget, timeline, and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to team development by mentoring junior designers and fostering collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead interior design projects from concept development through construction administration, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, budget, and timelines.
- Develop innovative design concepts synthesizing client requirements, site constraints, user experience, and brand identity.
- Prepare compelling presentations including mood boards, material palettes, space plans, 3D visualizations, and design narratives.
- Produce detailed construction documentation using Revit, including plans, sections, millwork details, and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors for seamless integration of interior systems.
- Oversee furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) selection, specification, procurement, and installation.
- Facilitate design workshops and client meetings to understand needs and build relationships.
- Mentor intermediate and junior designers by providing feedback, delegating tasks, and supporting professional development.
- Conduct site assessments, document existing conditions, attend construction meetings, and respond to field questions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline.
- 7-10 years of progressive professional experience in interior design practice with demonstrated project leadership.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit for 3D modeling and construction documentation.
- Strong capabilities with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes, accessibility standards (ADA/AS 1428), fire safety regulations, and National Construction Code requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and visual.
- Strong space planning expertise.
- Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating range of project types, creative problem-solving, material selection, technical documentation, and presentation capabilities.
- Professional registration or certification (preferred).
- Experience with 3D visualization software (preferred).
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and environmental rating systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of workplace strategy and contemporary workplace trends (preferred).
- Experience coordinating with lighting designers or demonstrated capability in lighting design fundamentals (preferred).
- Proficiency with AI-powered design tools and generative AI platforms (preferred).
- Previous experience on projects within commercial real estate, corporate workplace, or hospitality sectors (preferred).
- Demonstrated business development skills including proposal preparation and client presentations (preferred).
