About the Role
DP World is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead and transform procurement across DP World Oceania. This role will deliver strategic commercial outcomes, sustainable savings, strong supplier management, and robust procurement governance. You will provide executive leadership, partner with senior leaders, and build a high-performing procurement function to support growth, major projects, operational needs, and capital investment while managing value and risk. The role encompasses procurement strategy, category management, supplier relationships, sourcing, tenders, and contract governance, ensuring measurable value delivery in line with DP World's policies, ethical standards, and regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
- Set the direction, build and lead the Oceania Procurement Strategy, aligned to DP World's global playbook, and bring strong leadership to the function.
- Build and evolve a procurement operating model that incorporates business partnering, category expertise, sourcing, and transactional support.
- Introduce procurement early in processes to shape business planning, major projects, and investment decisions as a senior procurement advisor to the Oceania Executive.
- Drive sustainable savings and commercial value through benchmarking, market testing, negotiation, and a savings pipeline with accountability.
- Lead category strategy and strategic sourcing across major spend areas, managing complex tenders and rigorous supplier selection.
- Own key supplier and contract relationships, collaborating with Finance and Operations to ensure tenders address real business problems.
- Maintain strong procurement governance, risk management, and compliance across the function.
Requirements
- 15+ years in procurement or commercial leadership, with significant experience in senior procurement roles within large, complex organizations.
- Proven track record of building procurement strategies, operating models, and transformation programs.
- Deep experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and negotiating high-value, complex contracts.
- Proven ability to translate procurement strategy into measurable, sustainable commercial outcomes and savings.
- Experience integrating procurement into major projects including infrastructure, property, technology, capital works, and transformation.
- Strong grounding in procurement governance, risk management, and responsible sourcing, including Modern Slavery compliance.
- Experience leading procurement teams or shared services, including restructuring and capability building.
- Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, or major change initiatives, with the ability to ensure consistency across different businesses.
- Hands-on experience with ERP, e-sourcing, and contract lifecycle management systems, with a focus on data and process efficiency.
- Experience in ports, logistics, freight, warehousing, or other asset-intensive industries is highly advantageous.
- A relevant degree (Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Finance, or similar).
