About the Role
Seeking a calm, patient, and emotionally stable individual to provide support to a primary school student in Berlin-Lichtenberg. This role involves building a reliable relationship, recognizing signs of stress, and assisting the child in managing transitions and social situations.
Responsibilities
- Build a supportive and reliable relationship with the child.
- Recognize signs of tension and sensory overload early.
- Communicate transitions and changes clearly.
- Support the use of agreed-upon break and retreat options.
- Calmly accompany the child when they leave the classroom or a school situation.
- Support regulation and safe return to the class or group.
- Help to contextualize social situations and misunderstandings.
- Accompany partner and group work without taking over group leadership.
- Provide brief orientation at the start of work and for procedures, without teaching content.
- Coordinate reliably with school, family, and Lumi Care.
Requirements
- Calm, patient, and emotionally stable demeanor.
- Ability to set clear boundaries kindly.
- Do not take rejection personally.
- Do not react to escalations with pressure or loudness.
- Offer support without patronizing the child.
- Sensitive to sensory overload and need for retreat.
- Reliably keep agreed-upon requirements in view.
- Enjoy relationship work and have good access to primary school children.
- Reliable availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Experience with children in the autism spectrum, with ADHD, emotional regulation, or challenging school situations is very welcome.
- A clean extended police clearance certificate is required.
