About the Role
Join a vibrant service in West London as their service manager, leading a multiple-site team to embrace change and deliver person-centered support. You will develop positive relationships with local commissioners, social work teams, and the Care Quality Commission.
Responsibilities
- Model good working relationships with colleagues and across departments.
- Lead conversations with your manager to develop and oversee an operational and service developmental work plan for the team.
- Develop a local stakeholder management plan and promote the service in the community.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective services that empower service users.
- Oversee the implementation of service user leadership and promote opportunities across the organization.
- Develop peer support within the service, ensuring appropriate support and supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Recruit, lead, and line-manage service staff and volunteers, supporting their personal development.
- Manage the operational aspects of services, including compliance requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining a high level of skilled practice and awareness of relevant trends.
- Achieve, monitor, and contribute to the review of operational and financial performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external monitoring, auditing, and contract requirements, providing accurate reports.
- Ensure adherence to Together’s health and safety policy, procedures, and quality assurance systems.
- Collaborate with Finance to set the budget, implement financial procedures, and monitor budget achievement.
- Work with the quality team on information sharing, quality processes, and meeting organizational KPIs.
- Contribute to the development of quality processes and lead local processes, protocols, and guidance.
- Develop and maintain the high profile of Together with commissioners and other stakeholders.
- Promote Together and represent the organization positively at external meetings.
- Contribute to the regular review of service effectiveness and quality, involving service users and stakeholders.
- Share and lead the implementation of learning from adverse incidents to ensure high standards of safety and quality.
- Model commitment to Together Values and associated behaviors.
- Ensure Service User Leadership is central to all activities, embedding the framework within policy, strategy, and process.
Requirements
- Strong record and good understanding of leading and managing care and support services within mental health services.
- Demonstrable understanding of social care/clinical risk assessment and organizational and financial risk.
- Experience of managing and sustaining relationships with commissioners, managers, teams, and community groups.
- Understanding of an outcome-based approach for delivering success.
- Depth of understanding of the needs and aspirations of people experiencing mental distress (from lived experience, professional, or voluntary work).
- Knowledge and understanding of financial controls and budgeting processes.
- Ability to manage a devolved budget.
- Ability to work independently and creatively using own initiative.
- Accountability to line management.
