About the Role
Lifemark is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior Account Manager to accelerate the growth of its Occupational Health business across Ontario. This role will focus on expanding existing client relationships, developing new strategic accounts, and identifying opportunities to broaden Lifemark’s Occupational Health solutions with employers across key industries. The Senior Account Manager will leverage Lifemark's established platform, reputation, and capabilities to deepen relationships with existing clients, develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities, and position Lifemark as a trusted strategic partner.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic employer accounts, developing a deep understanding of each client’s business, workforce, health and safety priorities, and evolving needs.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans that identify opportunities for retention, expansion, cross-selling, and new solution adoption.
- Build strong relationships across multiple levels of client organizations, including Health & Safety, Human Resources, Disability Management, Operations, Procurement, and executive leadership.
- Identify opportunities to expand Lifemark’s Occupational Health services within existing accounts, business units, regions, and employee populations.
- Conduct regular client reviews and strategic business discussions focused on program performance, emerging needs, opportunities, and measurable outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on workforce health, workplace injury prevention, disability management, and return-to-work solutions.
- Develop new strategic employer relationships while leveraging Lifemark’s existing reputation, capabilities, client relationships, and market presence.
- Generate, qualify, and close new business opportunities across Transportation, Distribution & Warehousing, Construction, Healthcare, and other priority sectors.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and consistently advance prospects through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Lead consultative sales discussions to understand client challenges and develop tailored Occupational Health solutions that improve workforce health, safety, productivity, and employee outcomes.
- Develop compelling proposals, presentations, business cases, pricing recommendations, and responses to RFPs.
- Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Achieve annual revenue, account growth, pipeline, retention, and new business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within Ontario’s Occupational Health, Health & Safety, Disability Management, and employer communities.
- Build productive relationships with employers, industry associations, brokers, consultants, safety organizations, and other relevant partners.
- Represent Lifemark at industry conferences, association meetings, client events, and networking forums.
- Stay current on employer priorities, industry trends, regulatory developments, competitive activity, and emerging workforce health challenges.
- Bring market and client insights back into the organization to help strengthen Lifemark’s solutions and commercial strategy.
- Confidently adopt and use AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve sales effectiveness, account management, and productivity.
- Use AI and digital tools to support account research, prospecting, meeting preparation, opportunity identification, proposal development, communication, and follow-up.
- Leverage CRM, reporting, client data, and market intelligence to identify trends, prioritize opportunities, and make informed account decisions.
- Demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to experiment with new tools and ways of working that improve client engagement and commercial effectiveness.
- Apply appropriate judgment when using AI and technology, including maintaining confidentiality, data security, accuracy, and responsible-use standards.
- Partner closely with operational, clinical, marketing, finance, and leadership teams to ensure solutions align with client needs and Lifemark’s capabilities.
- Coordinate internal resources to support complex client opportunities, proposals, implementations, and ongoing account management.
- Work with operational teams to ensure successful client onboarding, implementation, service delivery, and issue resolution.
- Provide structured client and market feedback to support service innovation, program development, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and scale successful solutions across clients, sectors, and regions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive account management, strategic sales, business development, or client growth experience, ideally within Occupational Health, Employer Health Services, Workplace Health & Safety, Disability Management, Workers’ Compensation, Occupational Rehabilitation, healthcare, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of growing and retaining complex enterprise accounts, expanding client relationships, and generating new revenue.
- Demonstrated success securing complex enterprise-level contracts with large employers.
- Strong experience developing strategic account plans and identifying cross-sell, upsell, and expansion opportunities.
- Experience selling consultative solutions and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes.
- Ability to establish credibility and build long-term relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- Established relationships within Ontario’s employer, Occupational Health, Health & Safety, broker, consultant, or industry communities would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety requirements, workplace injury management, disability management, and return-to-work practices.
- Knowledge of workforce health challenges within sectors such as Transportation, Distribution & Warehousing, Construction, and Healthcare.
- Experience with Occupational Health services such as Return-to-Work and Stay-at-Work Programs, Disability Management Solutions, Occupational Rehabilitation Services, Functional and Fit-for-Work Assessments, Pre-Employment and Medical Assessments, Medical Surveillance Programs, Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs, Workplace Injury Prevention and Early Intervention Programs, and WSIB and occupational injury management processes.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience with proposals, pricing, contracts, negotiations, and revenue management.
- Comfort and proficiency using AI-enabled tools, CRM platforms, data, and digital technologies to improve sales effectiveness, account planning, client engagement, and productivity.
