About the Role
As an Area Manager at our Print on Demand (Book Printing) Facility within our Fulfillment Center, you will play a key role in maintaining customer expectations for timely and accurate order delivery. You will ensure smooth workflows and exceed customer expectations by guiding, mentoring, and motivating your team.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
- Work on Continuous Improvement projects addressing Safety, Productivity, Quality, and Associate Experience opportunities.
- Become a subject matter expert on POD processes.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards and promote a Health and Safety culture on-site.
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, POD Global) to develop plans meeting business objectives.
- Manage scraps to reduce them.
- Stand and walk for up to 10 hours during shifts.
- Be responsible for the training and integration of your team to progressively improve progress.
- Exercise sound judgment, ensuring progress and targets are realistic and achievable.
Requirements
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Working experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience as a manager, involving sizable teams; natural at motivating others and building strong relationships.
- Demonstrate ability in problem-solving and analytical capabilities: conducting and driving Dive Deep analysis on complex processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
