About the Role

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) is seeking an analyst to support the Post-Award Grant Accounting Team. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of invoices and reports, providing analytical review for financial reconciliation, and maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Billing and financial reporting to research sponsors, including account reconciliation.
  • Researching account discrepancies by analyzing historical data, financial records, invoices, and reports.
  • Reconciling unbalanced accounts using internal financial systems.
  • Monitoring sponsor portals and assisting with billing and reporting portal submissions.
  • Communicating rejections, payment issues, and other portal-related information to appropriate parties.
  • Alerting Grants Accounting Management of due dates, portal requirements, and other necessary information.
  • Providing information and assistance to Post-Award Awards Specialists, campus departments, and sponsors.
  • Setting up electronic files and updating account records for audit purposes.
  • Assisting with special projects related to post-award financial management and reporting.
  • Performing other related functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two years of professional experience in governmental or commercial accounting.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficient Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
