About the Role
Serve as a key member of Axon’s contracts and corporate team supporting global sales teams. Partner with external teams to structure and negotiate complex transactions and build processes for a rapidly scaling business.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to global business partners on transactional matters related to the sale of Axon’s products.
- Structure, review, and negotiate contracts for the disposition of Axon’s goods, services, and SaaS solutions.
- Provide and recommend options for business partners regarding contract negotiations and corresponding risk analyses.
- Supervise and review the work of Contracts Managers.
- Set and enforce risk levels acceptable to Axon through approvals and ownership of the knowledge bank and playbooks.
- Lead, support, execute, and evolve team processes to help build Legal contracting support for scale.
- Draft, update, and maintain template contract language, risk analyses, and policies and procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of the contract lifecycle management system.
- Provide other legal advice as needed related to Axon’s operations, including regulatory compliance, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, contracts managers, and administrative support to grow, mentor, and learn.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience (in-house preferred) negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.
- Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts, including those for the sale of SaaS, hardware, and services.
- Experience negotiating SaaS, IaaS, and/or PaaS contracts.
- Ability to act with urgency on all requests.
- Pass-first attitude with a desire to learn new topics and take on new challenges.
- Experience negotiating international agreements.
- Passion for process and organization.
- J.D. and member in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Experience with using AI, including using it to automate processes and build applications to simplify workflows.
- Ability to manage a large workload and pivot quickly between tasks as business needs change.

- $135,000—$194,000 USD
